The Challenge

TELUS partnered with the Calgary Hitmen to amplify their #EndBullying initiative at the annual Be Brave hockey game. The goal was clear: engage thousands of students and create a meaningful experience that sparked conversation and promoted anti-bullying awareness both in-person and online.

Our Solution

We transformed a high-energy hockey event into a platform for positive digital action through a fully branded and tech-forward photo booth experience, including:

Branded Engagement

Fully wrapped photo booth, custom overlays, props, and digital backgrounds reinforcing TELUS branding and messaging.

Touchless Interaction

Fans scanned TELUS-branded QR codes placed around the venue, selecting personalized digital backgrounds via a custom microsite.

Instant Digital Delivery

Personal QR codes activated the photo booth session, delivering instant digital photos straight to fans’ phones or emails.

Immediate Sharing

Branded microsites and white-labeled emails facilitated easy sharing across social channels, extending the event’s reach far beyond the venue.

Memorable Keepsakes

Fans received branded print-outs to take home, extending the experience beyond the event itself.

Why It Worked

This activation succeeded by seamlessly integrating TELUS’s purpose-driven message into a fun, interactive experience that resonated deeply with attendees. From the moment the doors opened until the final buzzer, the photo booth was swarmed with excited kids, with a steady lineup the entire game—a clear sign the experience struck the right chord. Fans didn’t just capture memories —they became active ambassadors for the anti-bullying message, spreading awareness well beyond the rink.
